June 28th 2025 Ordination
Philippians 4:13
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
(NKJV)
What a ride the last year and a half have been. This very day, June 30/2025 post is exactly a year and a half after I made a commitment (and maybe more appropriately, a covenant) between myself and the Lord to fulfill His calling to be a minister and to serve Him in the recently formed and Holy Spirit filled Global Methodist Church. Beginning with Course of Study classes, making connections with people, and serving the Lord as he lead me. In April of 2024 the Lord Lead me to Cool Spring Community Church and Shiloh Methodist Church to serve as a fill in for the month. That month went by in a whirlwind and I started feeling connected quickly building relationships in the congregations. Still studying, still figuring out God's plan, and I guarantee you finding every way possible to almost allow myself to get in God's way. I stayed for the month of May as well and June 1st both churches called me to be there Pastor and I also heard the Lord Call me as well.
Serving two churches as Pastor and working on classes to lead to ordination, and balancing everyday life, being there for my beautiful, supportive, and amazing wife, Kathy Wiltsie Custer, balancing time and studies and being a full time pastor.... this last year has not been easy, but it has been one of the greatest blessings of my life.
I interviewed over the last year and a half at least 3 or 4 times with the amazing board of ministry folks for the Global Methodist Church here in NC and every time left feeling very blessed to be a part of something way bigger, greater and more powerful than I could comprehend, and that is because the power of the Holy Spirit was bathing these divine meetings in His Power.
June 1st 2025 came, and we, giving all Glory and Honor to God celebrated 1 year as Pastor of the two point charge the Lord called me to serve. and on Saturday, June 28th, I approached Bishop Greenway and the leaders of the North Carolina Annual Conference of the Global Methodist Church and under most importantly God's Authority was Ordained a Deacon into the Global Methodist Church.
The Lord has blessed me more than I deserve, and I am so thankful to Him for the work He has done in and through my life. I also thank all of you who have been a part of the journey, all the ways God has worked in our relationships to lead and guide me to this major milestone in my life.
"To God be the Glory great things He has done, so loved He the world that He gave us His Son, who yielded His life an atonement for sin, and opened the life-gate that all may go in. Praise the Lord, Praise the Lord, let the earth hear His voice, Praise the Lord, Praise the Lord, let the people rejoice! O come to the Father through Jesus the Son, and give Him the Glory great things He has done."
